Can I apply for Chinese visa in Bangkok?
I am holding South African passport and I am now in Bangkok and planed to move to Shanghai in August as my husband got job there. I will travel with my sons to South Africa in July and go directly to Shanghai in August. Can we apply for our visas here in Bangkok in June before I go to South Africa? Which type of visa must we get to enter china in August?
Answered by Jim
Yes, you can apply the visa in Bangkok if you can provide valid residence permit or work visa in Bangkok. And you also need to pay attention to the validity of the visa. It is usually suggested to apply the visa 1 to 3 months prior to your departure date. As for your situation, you need to apply for a Z visa.

Can South Africans get more than a 1 month tourist visa to China?
Good Day,
I am currently in China, holding a 3 month Tourist Visa, which I received in South Africa. It will expire and I was thinking of going to the Philippines to get a new visa to return to China. I want to get three months. 1 month is not enough.
It seems difficult for South Africans to get visa, so I want to make sure about some things.
Do you know any other requirements? Do you know if I would be able to get more than a 1 month tourist visa? Three months would be great. And do I need to go through a travel agent or can I do it by myself? If it helps, I can get an invitation letter (for tourist) from a friend here that works at a big company, asking for 3 months. I just want to know if it’s worth the trip. Any advice would be great. Thank you

You can apply for a new visa from the visa office of PRC in HH or Macau, why will you apply for it in Philippines? If apply for it in Philippines, you have to prepare the following documents: Your passport with blank pages and at least 6 months validity left before expiration; A truly and completely filled application form affixed with one passport-size or 2x2 colored photo; A copy of the round-trip plane ticket; invitation letter with a copy of the inviter's valid Chinese residence visa and passport information page of inviter's or Chinese national identity card; Previously used China visa in old or new passport with visa stickers; Bank receipt on which shows that you have enough money to afford the trip to China; valid work visa or residence permit. You can apply for a 3-month visa if you can provide proof for that you need so long time in China. Actually, I suggest you have your visa extended in China first.
