We will wait for you at the airport and pick you up according to your own booked flight into Beijing, and any time of arrival will be fine today. On the way to the hotel, our guide will give you a brief introduction about this international metropolis, and then he/ she will help you check in at the 4-star Holiday Inn Central Plaza Hotel. After this, you are totally free for the rest of the day to have a good rest or to walk around as you wish. If you do not have ideas for what to do next, it’s better to ask your guide for some advice before he/she leaves.

Today will be a big day. In the early morning before the tour starts, the guide will gather the entire group members and give you some information of the whole trip and will introduce other members to you. The first stop should be the heart area of Beijing, Tiananmen Square. The solemn flag-raising & lowering ceremony are held every day here, and countless historical and political events have also happened here. Walking on the square you may find many important buildings standing around including the Great Hall of the People. Then walk for two minutes to the entrance of the Forbidden City, which used to be the royal palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties and the residence of 24 emperors. It is also the largest and the most complete ancient complex of wooden structures in the world. China is famous for its varied food culture and we will not miss the chance to serve you the real Chinese food to make sure you enjoy the trip from all aspects. For this first day, we will arrange the a la carte lunch for you at a famous local restaurant to order your preferred dishes, and surely our guide will help you with the order process if it is needed. In the afternoon, have a look at the Temple of Heaven, which was used by the emperors to worship the god for the good harvest and fortune. After that, our guide will drive you to the theater to appreciate a Kungfu show to see how a little monk grows up from a student to a Kungfu master. (B+L)

A Chinese proverb says that “one is not a true man unless he comes to the Great Wall”. It shows the difficulty of climbing up the Great Wall in old days, but now it becomes easier and safer after years of protection and development. Today we will drive you to the most famous section of the Great Wall, Badaling Great Wall and a jade factory. You may climb to the top and find yourself filled with passions and ambitions when all mountains are in a small single glance. As the restaurants there are in low quality, we do not arrange lunch today. We suggest you have a big breakfast and take some fast food for you lunch. Visit the Sacred Way in the afternoon. On the way back to downtown, we will stop at a distance for you to have a look at or take some photos of the National Stadium, which is also called the Bird Nest and was first used for the 2008 Olympics. This morning, you will visit the best preserved walled site developed over 600 years, the ancient City Wall and the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. Shaanxi province is one of the important places of Chinese development and also the birthplace of Chinese civilization. And this museum plays a good role to display this information to the world and displays numerous historical and rare relics. Then a rich a la carte lunch will be served at a reputable restaurant. After lunch, our guide and driver will escort you to the airport and you will take flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to the 4-star Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya in downtown area. (B+L)

The first stop today is to visit the Shanghai Museum, which is one of the four key museums domestically. The 4-storey hall has collected an overwhelming variety of 12,000 rare relics including bronzes, chinaware, calligraphies, paintings and other precious items. After that, you will have a chance to visit the representative of garden art in the eastern region, the Yuyuan Garden and a silk shop. Located in the old Shanghai area, the Yuyuan Garden is an escape from the busy neighborhood, full of vigor and vitality. For today’s farewell a la carte lunch, we specially arrange a famous restaurant to serve Shanghai cuisine. This afternoon will be at ease to visit the Nanjing Road, the Bund and an old street, from where you may find the old buildings of various western styles and feel the development of Shanghai. After the visit, our guide will transfer you back to your hotel and wish you a nice journey home. (B+L)
