Xian & Mt. Hua Exploration

Besides 3 days’ classical Xian trip, some other noteworthy scenic attractions in the outskirts of the city may arouse your interests. Take the following options into consideration and choose your preference.
 
Option 1: You will take the private car to visit the Qianling Museum, the joint mausoleum of Emperor Gaozong and the only Empress in China Wu Zetian in company of the guide. Mausoleum visit is a must for any comers to Xian. There is a popular saying that the westward underground buried the emperors. There are totally 27 emperors' mausoleums only from Xian to Xianyang. Qianling Mausoleum deserves your visit not only because it is one of the few joint mausoleums of the imperial couple in the world, but also the significance lies in the artistic construction itself. Even though the monarch mettle has become of a thing of the past, the majesty and might of the emperors is not lessened when you are there. Later the day, you will reach the Famen Temple for some exploration. According to the legend, Indian Ashoka distributed the Shelis to several places to further spread the Buddhist spirit. All those got Shelis needed to set up stupas for oblation. Famen Temple is the one in large scale. It was named Famen Temple because one of the finger bones of Sakyamuni was buried here. Besides excavating the finger bones and Sheli, there also discovered the 121 gold and silver vessels, 20 glass glazed utensils, 16 porcelains, 12 stone utensils, about 400 jewellery and 700 silky materials. Option 2: Drive about one hour and a half along Xitong Expressway to visit Huashan Mountain, one of the 5 renowned mountains in China. Huashan Mountain is not only a tourist attraction but also the Taoism resort. There remain 72 semi-hanging caves and 20 temples now. Numerous people left their steps and nice memory here. There are 5 peaks in Huashan Mountain. The East Peak also called Zhaoyang Peak offers the best view for the sunrise. The main peak - South Peak with the elevation of 2083 meters is the most dangerous. Along the way uphill, you will be overwhelmed by the breathtaking scenery, scented flowers, twittering birds etc. In spite of exhaustion when climbing the craggy mountain, the ecstasy and satisfaction you acquire is worth your pay. You will take the cable car to the North Peak. Climb the Thousand-feet Stone Pillar, the Lianhua Peak, the Yuquan Court and the Changjin Pavilion. Return to Xian in the afternoon. (L)
