Ask Question

 Shopping
By all means bargain or haggle when shopping in gift stores on the cruise ship or near onshore attractions. You may make any reasonable offer if you want to buy something, but do not waste the shopkeeper's time. Exercise due diligence while negotiating for the following items: jade crafts, ancient coins, antique painting and calligraphy works, antique lacquer wares, bronze wares, and memorial stamps or picture album. See more about Bargain.

 Travel with Kids
Children under 2 years old without a separate bed get 90% off the Yangtze cruise fare; and children over 2 and under 12 years old get 50 % off when not requiring a separate bed, but will get only 25% off when separate beds are needed. Full price is charged if they are older than 12.

Special child care is provided on demand. A charged crèche is also available onboard (reservation mandatory).

 Tipping
Though tipping is not a regular practice, it is acceptable in a round about manner during a Yangtze River cruse tour. You may tip the porter, your guide, and the room attendant for superb services. There is a ship's tipping collection box where you can express your appreciation for the services you get from the crew. For particulars, please see Tipping in China

 Pets
Your pets are not allowed on a cruise ship. The cruise company also does not babysit for pets. Please drop off your pets before a Yangtze cruise tour commences.

 Complaints
Your cruise guide should be your main contact for all your needs. The ship's captain does not sort out matters for you. You may contact the resident manager about your room, and the restaurant manager about the food. You may ultimately reach the cruise ship's manager. If you want to take matters a step further, you may make a complaint to the local travel and tourism administration.
