Travel Insurance
During your Yangtze River tour, the cruise company will try its best to prevent any loss or damage. The cruise company provides liability insurance which is included in the ship fare, and compensates for loss or damages that is the fault of the cruise company. If your luggage is lost by the cruise company, you will get up to USD 3,000 as compensation.

The quotation a travel agency offers also includes their liability insurance, which covers the damage, injury, or loss caused by the fault of the travel agency, but not the damage or loss caused by the travelers themselves. Visitors are encouraged to purchase travel insurance in your home country beforehand. Chinatour360.com recommends that you purchase insurance sufficient to cover medical needs, accidents, luggage loss, and trip delays beyond the agency policy coverage.

Health Requirement
The Yangtze River cruise tour can be quite demanding, and being in good health is also very important. We suggest that you consider of your health condition before taking a trip. If you need special medical care you have to fill out an application with the cruise company or travel agency when you reserve the tour.

There are usually no special rooms or elevators for people with leg problems on the cruise ships, so it is not very convenient to get around the ship. Only some luxury ships offer rooms and elevators for the disabled, so people with walking difficulties should confirm with your travel agency or the cruise company in advance. In addition, most stops of call during a Yangtze Cruise tour are in valleys or mountainous areas, so visitors have to climb steps and walk long distances. Small wooden boats will also be used in the shallow streams.

Travel Documents
Your valid passport and visa are the basic documents for traveling abroad, and will be checked when you board the ship. Visitors holding an expired passport or visa will not be allowed to board so please make sure your travel documents are valid before your trip. The contract you signed with the travel agency or cruise company should also be carried in case you need to make a claim during the trip. It is recommended that you take photocopies of important travel documents such as your passport, in case the original is lost or stolen.

After the check-in procedures, you will be issued a boarding card which enables you to make credit purchases during the voyage. Before an excursion tour during the trip, you will get a disembarkation card that works as an identity card if you get lost during the excursion tour. You will return the card when you reboard.
