Haihe Park

Ask Question

Like a jade belt attached to the river banks, Haihe Park is an ideal place for pleasure and rest. It starts from the two groups of bronze sculptures on the water of the Lion Forest Bridge. Among the sculptures, the most attracting should be the two dragons vying for a pearl and Nezha stirring up the sea, around which are hanging with chains of colorful lights. If you were here in the evening, the shining lights, the gurgling and the misty air will send you to a fairyland.

Walk along the east bank to the Bei'an Bridge, you will get to the Youth Garden, full of vernal freshness. What comes to your eyes first will be a huge silvery gray electronic quartz clock enlightening the youth cherishing the 'golden times'. In the flowers stand four beautiful young women encouraging each other to pursuit good future with their eyes arm in arm. There is a granite stone stele carved with three big Chinese characters 'qing nian yuan' (youth garden) standing in the very center of the garden.

Next to the Youth garden is the Caohua Garden (grass and flowers garden), where are covered with various colorful flowers. This garden is very near to the downtown area of Tianjin city, but it is quiet there no matter how noisy the outside is. A statue of the 'daughter of the Haihe River' is standing in the flowers. With deep feelings to the life, she seems to be standing in the waves of the river and watching the blue sky and the white cloud, with a sea-gull in her right hand flapping its wings. The most spectacular attraction here is the man-made waterfalls coving an area of over 800 square meters (957 square yards).

East of the Caohua Garden are the four seasons' gardens orderly, planted with flowers and trees of each season. What worth mentioning here is the stone in the Summer Garden which is a stromatolite with a history of 1 billion years.

Exiting the Autumn Garden, going to the opposite bank of the Haihe River and turning back, you are at the Plant-shaping Garden presenting you a unique gardening style. Based on the gardening of the western countries, the designers center on regular distribution and design various flowers pond every 70 - 80 meters (77 - 87 yards). Meanwhile, the sculptures sculpted on all kinds of plants are also gorgeous, including swans, snow bears, flying fishes and dolphins.
