Langyi Monastery

The Aba County in Aba also remains of Tibetan area's largest temple of Bon religion - Langyi Monastery. The main attractions there include the Main Assembly Hall, the white stupa and the sky burial stage. The sky burial stage of the temple is located on the other side of the mountain with the stupa. It can be seen from afar, but remember that the ritual of sky burial is not allowed to be seen.

Langyi Monastery appears like other Tibetan Buddhist temples, and the lamas there also wear the similar costumes. But there are some differences in the religious teachings, which can be leant from the interior buildings and lamas' livings. In the majestic Main Assembly Hall, the large statue of the founder of Bon - Tonpa Shenra is enshrined in the center. On both sides of the wall are still orderly laid his 1,113 bronze statues. On the back wall are seated the gilded statues of past masters of the temples. The surrounding wall is also filled with exquisite murals about the history and teachings of Bon, while around the crossbeam vivid sculptures of fairies, animals and auspicious objects can also be seen.

In front of the hall stands the imposing white stupa, where store over a thousand statues of Tonpa Shenra and scriptures of Bon.  The pedestals of the statues are all colored with blue - the basic color of Bon. Around the stupa is a circumambulation passage with prayer wheels. The followers of Bon follow counterclockwise and murmur different mantras as Tibetan Buddhism. So tourists also should follow the same direction when visiting or worshipping the temple.

The saying goes that Jiuzhai's waters are beautiful while Xiaojin's mountains are fantastic'. Jiajin Mountain is located between Xiaojin County of Aba and Baoxing County of Ya'an, about 250 kilometers (155 miles) away from Chengdu. It is neighbor to the famous Mt. The title 'Jiajin Mountain National Forest Park' mainly covers two sites of cultural and environmental interest: Jiajin Mountain and Mu'erzhai Valley. The main peak stands at an altitude of 4,930 meters (16,175 feet). The area is blessed with snow-capped peaks, steep cliffs, deep valleys, lakes, glaciers, waterfalls and has a spectacular landscape.
