I had a great tour in China. I was met by Sara at Beijing airport and taken to a car for my journey to the Holiday Inn Central Plaza. Hotel and breakfast very good. The hotel was not downtown but only 30 to 40 yuan to the market and shopping malls. I arrived a day and a half before the start of the tour with the group, this gave me time to adjust to the time difference and also a day to visit the street market and shopping malls.

I met up with Sara and the group the following day. We were 16 in the group from various English speaking countries. Sara the guide spoke very good English and had very good knowledge of Beijing history which made 3 days very interesting.

We flew from Beijing to Xian and were met at the airport and driven to the Sheraton Hotel. The hotel and breakfast was very good. We were met by Tracy to see the Terracotta warriors. We had lunch at a family home which deserved 5 stars. In the evening saw Tang Dynasty Dance and Music Show including a Dumpling meal, both were not really up to the standard of the other Hotels and restaurants. We had 2 interesting days. Our guide Tracy was good and quite knowledgeable. In the evening saw Chinese Kung Fu show I would have preferred
to see or Dancing or Acrobatics.

We flew from Xian to Guilin. We were met by Sandy and driven to Guilin Bravo hotel which was not up to the standard of the other hotels for their rooms and breakfast. We visited the Reed Flute Cave. Next day we had a very relaxing day on the river Li and visited a local family home.

The following day we flew to Shanghai and were taken to Grand Mercure Shanghai Zhongya a 4 star hotel which in my opinion deserved 5 star room first class and breakfast was amazing. The next day we were met by Emma and visited Shanghai Museum a silk factory and The Bund. Lunch at restaurant not as good as the others. The next day I had free time before my flight at 1 am the following morning. I had a great time at the Bund and at a market on 5or 6 floors where I had a pair of glasses made in three hours.

Flew back home after a very memorable holiday in China.

Overall, I thought the tour was well organized and we had plenty of activities to do. However, there was not a lot of time for shopping and looking through stores which was something we wanted to do because we had to keep a schedule.

I was very satisfied with all the guides, they were all very knowledgeable and helpful. The drivers were all very kind and driving in China is a fun experience.

The cars were all clean and water was provided daily. The meals such as the duck in Beijing and the lunch with the family were great and delicious. Some hotels breakfast were not as diverse as others but overall ok.

And coordinating this trip with Angela went smoothly considering we had a lot of questions and changes. Thank you all for being great and kind before and during the trip with me and my family.

Yes, Jacky and Robert were great guides. They both had a great sense of humor and answered all of our questions. They both were very helpful and understanding when we needed to stop at the pharmacy or were open to suggestions to do around town. Thank them both for me.
