Hello, Wendy Lee!
It was nice to meet you in Xian!
We had a wonderful tour! We saw everything we wanted to see, and more. The weather was perfect, food was good, hotels good. The hotel in Xian was absolutely stunning.
Pick up from airports and train stations worked perfectly, nice air conditioned cars and friendly drivers. There was water bottles waiting for us in the cars, except in Shanghai, where we got only one bottle each after we asked for it from the guide.
Our guide in Xian, Jacky, was excellent! He spoke very well English, he was telling us about China, the people, history and modern everyday life, he knew a lot and talked to us the whole time. It was easy to ask questions and discuss with him. He was quiet and left space for me to translate in to Finnish to my friend Paivi, who don't understand so much English. He had humor and understood the differences in our cultures. He booked tickets to the dumpling dinner and show at the opera. After he had brought us there, and made sure we are comfortable, he went home to celebrate moon festival with his family. Still he come back later, and arranged better seats for us! We had an unobstructed view to the stage. Big thanks to Jacky!
The guide in Beijing, Barry, was a good guide, but I had difficulties to understand his English. Also he didn't always wait so I could translate to Paivi. Barry know much about the sights we visited, but he didn't tell us so much in between, probably because he didn't speak so well English, so it was not so easy for him.
The guide in Shanghai, Emma, was fantastic! She spoke very well English, she talked all the time, but left room for me to translate. We told her that we are shopping crazy ladies, so she made sure we had enough time in the silk store. Also she took us to a bag shop, when we needed a big suitcase for our shopping. After the river cruise, with a beautiful view over Shanghai by night, we wanted to stay in town. Emma suggested that they drop us off at the Peoples square, and bring all our shopping items to the hotel. So when we got home to the hotel by metro, our bags was waiting for us in the reception. Thanks to Emma and the driver!
All the guides at the factories, hutong in Beijing, tea ceremony in Shanghai, spoke well English and explained very well.
The highlights of our trip were of course the Great Wall and the terracotta army. We were so thrilled to get to meet the farmer, who found the soldiers!
I can warmly recommend your company to everyone who is planning on visiting China! Everything worked perfectly! The website is very clear and easy to read, the booking was easy. Thank you for tips and advices, and your quick responses to all my questions!
Best regards
