China Tour Reviews

Ms. Wu and Meng,

We completed our visit to China and were hugely pleased with your service. The two of you were most helpful. In spite of the fact that we contacted you less than two weeks before we departed, and we presented a somewhat complex schedule in which we were sometimes working on own and some times making use of your guides, you managed to be flexible and responsive. Many, many thanks to you and your staff. (If you want to quote us in your literature, and/or use us as a reference we would be quite willing.)

Although we completed a written assessment with Bruce in Huangshan, we would like to amplify it a bit.

Hotels:
The best hotel you arranged for us was the Nanlin Hotel in Suzhou. It has a pleasant interior, interesting garden area, and several restaurants just outside of its entrance. (The key to a good hotel is its location.) We would recommend it highly.

The poorest hotel was the Holiday Inn Express in Hangzhou, because of its location. There is nothing to walk to on the street; it is completely isolated. For a single night, as ours, it is adequate; but it should never be used for two or more nights.

It is hard to judge the Huangshan International Hotel. It was adequate for our purposes, but a bit far from the old town to easily walk to it (we did). Of course, the Beihai Hotel atop is Huangshan Mountain is a unique experience that is incomparable to other city hotels. Its location is marvelous, as was the sunrise.

Guides:
Tony (Shanghai): He was most informative, about Shanghai and neighborhoods. He clearly explained how to use the railway system (which we did repeatedly) and was most helpful.

Bruce (Huangshan): We spent the most time with him. He is knowledgeable and his English is excellent. He suggested interesting activities for us. Our sole criticism is his heavy use of the cell phone for personal affairs. All of the younger generation seem to do this.

Colin (Shanghai): met us at Honggiao Airport at 2 AM due to a delayed flight from Huangshan. He seemed fine, but we were too tired to care!

Our driver from Hangzhou and in Huangshan spoke little English but managed to communicate with us rather well. He should be commended.

Overall, we were well satisfied, and will expect to make use of your services when we return to China.

Thank you!
