It is somewhat intimidating to pay in advance not knowing if a company on the other side of the world will deliver as promised but we were never disappointed. Quite the contrary as every day somehow seemed to get better and better than the previous day. The real test, in my opinion is to have circumstances arise that require adaptations. Your company not only adapted quickly but shouldered all the responsibility to provide everything we were entitled to and then some.

The meals were quite good. Actually it seemed like too much food at times.

The guides were excellent. All had different and interesting personalities, spoke English well and were punctual. We were well cared for and each made his or her assigned portion of the trip memorable for us.

Salina in Kunming was exceptional and several of the other guides were very, very good. This was a most important segment of our trip and she made it happen always with positive results. Changed schedules were never a problem and negotiating with people on our behalf made everyday not just a good day but a great day. She is truly a professional.

It is impossible to explain the chaos of driving in China to others so suffice it to say the drivers displayed remarkable skill and courtesy in getting to all the attractions safe and on time.

All rooms were clean and the air conditioning was good. The whole fresh water situation throughout China where tap water had to be boiled was totally unexpected. Some of the hotels only supplied one bottle of water in the room which was not adequate because of the hot weather. Some hotels would send up more bottled water when requested but others wanted to charge for extra drinking water. This we did not like. Our guides/drivers all supplied us with bottled water but there should have been more available in the hotels.
