We loved the mix of Western and Chinese menus, so that if one of us preferred a more familiar menu item, we had that option. Portions of all meals were more than plentiful. All restaurants were conveniently-located to our sightseeing stops and offered a warm and inviting ambience. We particularly enjoyed the Schoolhouse Restaurant, located near the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.
Our guide Li is an excellent guide. She served as the translator in restaurants where the service help did not speak English. Our driver, Bai, was always on time and hospitable. He always opened the car doors for us and had bottled water available at all times.
