China Tour Reviews

Dear Bruce,

In Beijing, the Peking duck restaurant was very good. That would be a good recommendation for other guests. In Shanghai the last dinner was delicious.

Our guide in Beijing, Linda, was especially thoughtful and good. Also the guide in Shanghai was also terrific. When the 3 1/2 hr boat ride on the River was cancelled (non refundable) she worked with us to come up with something we would be interested in seeing. Besides the 45 minute boat ride she suggested the Jewish Ghetto and Synagogue which was fascinating and Annie the tour guide had lots of historically information about it. We were very impressed with her.

The home visit was very interesting and we were glad to have done it.

The airport pickups, the scheduling of activities and flights, quality of the staff met our expectations and sometimes went beyond.

THANK YOU for a great experience.

Dear Linda and Tina:

We were very pleased with our trip to China and the arrangements you made for us. I have already discussed this with our local travel agent, and I wouldn't be surprised if you get some additional business from Denver.

In a word, our guides were uniformly wonderful! Their attitude, language and local knowledge were excellent. And several offered to be of assistance during the limited free time on our schedule. And we had at least 13 airport/railway station transactions, both arriving and leaving. Our guides were there to welcome us to a new location, and to help us with departures. This was very reassuring, especially when you consider that we were visiting large unfamiliar cities, sometimes after dark. It was wonderful to see your name on a sign, to meet your new guide, and have them escort you to the hotel!

The vehicles were fine, and the drivers were both cordial and helpful, opening doors and assisting with luggage. No problems and no suggestions on this topic.

The hotels in Beijing, Xian and Chengdu were absolutely lovely: extremely comfortable and great breakfasts. You will recall that we stayed at the Astor House Hotel in Shanghai, and loved it. The rooms were fine, the breakfasts were excellent, the local weddings were fun to observe, and above all we loved the location. It was so nice to be able to take the five minute walk to the Bund in the evening to people watch and witness the incredible light show . . .

I forgot to mention how much we appreciated the very quick responses from the two of you as we were planning our trip to China. And we will assuredly contact you if/when we return to your beautiful country.

Regards
