China Tour Reviews

Good Morning,

We are pleased to give you below some information about our trip. I apologise for the delay in replying but we were travelling for a total of 3 weeks and upon our return there were many things to be attended to.

1. Meals: All the meals arranged for us were good so it is difficult to pick out any particular one. The lunch and dinner in Shanghai on March 3 we enjoyed very much.

2. Guides: All guides had an excellent knowledge about the places they showed us. Their English was generally good, with a more or less distinct accent but that was quite ok. 4 out of the 5 guides were extremely helpful and considerate. In this respect Mr. Jimmy of Nanjing was not quite up to the other guides’ standards.

3. Cars: The service attitude of the drivers was very good and their cars in clean and good condition. The car we liked best was that the one in Suzhou with Ms. Janet, it was very comfortable and extremely clean, perhaps it was the newest of them.

In general the tour was very well organised, everything went smoothly without any problems. We very much liked travelling in the very comfortable and fast bullet trains. The hotels were all very good but the Grand Park in Wuxi was very noisy at night due to ongoing outside construction work and traffic noise.

Best regards

Please thank each of the guides. They were all excellent. (Tracy in Shanghai, Richard Yue in Dunhuang, Dolkun in Turpan, Tudajim Mamitimin in Kashgar, Sami in Chengdu, Vivian in Kunming). All of them were EXCELLENT in their English skills, their humor, their knowledge of their city, and the sights we were seeing, their desire to please, their offer to provide us with extra suggestions based on our interests, and their assistance. In Dunhuang the train left late and Richard stayed with us until it left. In Turpan the train arrived 4 hours late due to a sand storm and Dolkun was there when it arrived. Also due to a sandstorm the plane from Urumqi left 4 hours late and Dolkun stayed with us and Tudajim was there when we arrived at 2 in the morning. I will be recommending, not only your service to my friends because your arrangements were wonderful and your selection of hotels were excellent, but I will also recommend they request these same guides in the respective cites. We were very happy with each of them. One advantage of traveling out of the normal season of May to November, is there are few other tourists, so there are no lines at any of the attractions nor at the restaurants.

I also want to thank both of you (Rebecca Zhou/ Ruby Zhao). You were helpful, you were prompt, and with the 81 messages from me to you and the 81 messages back, you did an excellent job of helping me to have a trip of a life time to the Silk Road, Chengdu and Kunming.

I would make a few suggestions.

In Chengdu, arrange for your guests to stay at the Zen Buddha Hotel. The experience of this theme hotel and its location was excellent.

In Kunming, suggest your guests attend the "Dynamic Yunnan" Native Song and Dance Medley. Vivian suggested we attend and took us there in the evening. It was an excellent show.
