China Tour Reviews

Dear Nicole & Ruby,

Yes, we enjoyed the cruise very much and all the arrangements worked very well. Your instructions were very useful to find the Victoria Queen in Yichang although perhaps for other customers you might like to mention that it is about 20k outside of the town. When the taxi driver told us this we, at first, thought that he was trying to cheat us so we called the boat to verify that it was so far away!

Regarding the cruise itself, everything was fine and we thought that it was good value for money. The only two suggestions for improvement would be:

Improve the quality of the Chinese food. The western food was fine but the Chinese food was too western! Chinese food is great and I am sure that the cooks can do it but perhaps have been told that westerners don't like it. Well, many do, and others would like to try normal Chinese food.

Have someone on the dock at Yichang to welcome customers to the boat. When we arrived there about 8:00 pm there was no one around outside the boat and I had to go down to the crew's quarters to find out where to go to and then it was quite difficult to find someone to help with the baggage. Getting off the boat on Chongqing was no problem.

The arrangements and organisation by you two was perfect and we would certainly use your services again. Thank you.

Hi, Kina and Eileen,

It was a wonderful trip. First, the guides contacted us or met us at the airport in a timely fashion. The guides did a very good job by showing us around. The guide at Dunghuang went up the Ming-Sha Shan with us and even helped us to carry baggage for us. The hotels in both Xian and Dunghuang offered good service, although we thought the Bell-Tower Hotel in Xian, which we stayed for additional nights, also a 4-star hotel, and conveniently located in the city center, provided better service.

The dumpling feast is quite unique. I am not sure the meal at Nong-Jia-Le in Dunghuang is to our taste. Since Dunghuang is noted for its agricultural products, perhaps a meal with local fresh vegetable and fruits would be more appropriate. The car service in both cities are quite satisfactory.

One thing I would recommend is that for those who visit Xian must watch the performance of ancient instruments and drums at Bell and Drum towers. Perhaps with more funding generated through more visitors, their performance would be more skillful.

I would recommend to those of my friends who like to have same kind of service. You can publish my comments on web provided you make sure that my name and web address are not published in any manner.

Thanks
