Dear Eileen and Sally,
First of all, Can I say that it was a truly wonderful China experience and that I could not have been more satisfied with the extremely hospitable care you took of me and the selection of places to visit within the cities chosen was, as far as I am concerned, perfect. As regards the hotels, they too had obviously been selected for their comfort, quality, and friendliness.
The guides in the first three cities of my tour (Beijing, Lhasa, and Xian) were a wonderful advertisement for your organization(Chinatour360). They were attentive to the various needs of each member of our group and were extremely anxious to make sure we saw everything we could desire. Their knowledge about their cities was encyclopaedic and their obvious pride and joy in these places was infectious. I know that everyone in our group thought the same. I have visited many countries around the world and the majority of guides just seemed interested in taking groups to shops, but your guides only took us to shops when so requested by members of the group and always allowed us to select from a wide choice. Any other tourist who gets their services is lucky indeed. I spent relatively little time with your guides in other cities, who mainly acted in a transitional role - picking me up, making sure I had a meal and conveying me to the next destination. They were always on time, friendly and courteous and made me feel very welcome.
The only criticism I might make is more of a suggestion. The restaurants we visited were truly superb and the lavishness of the dishes you heaped upon us is a great testament of Chinese hospitality. I did feel, however, that most of the lunches were just a little too lavish. After a large and delicious lunch, it makes the afternoon tours heavy going - I particularly felt the need to sleep. A light lunch alternative might be worth considering. Our guide in Lhasa, at our request, made an excellent choice and the fact that we insisted on a repeat visit to the same place the next day shows how appreciative we felt.
The cruise on the Yangtze River was a real delight and the side trips had also obviously chosen with care and proved tremendously interesting. The guides were informative and the entertainment on board was both enjoyable and appropriate; I even got to learn to play Mah Jong. The food, as at every point of the journey, could not be faulted for its quality, variety, and quantity.
Shanghai was a wonderful end to my journey and the hotel room I was given was a magnificent treat. At the same time, the pop group "Westlife" was staying there and playing in the stadium opposite. Because the fans outside the hotel presumed I was part of their entourage, I was often asked for my autograph which added a little extra zing to my stay.
I have no hesitation in recommending Chinatour360 to any prospective visitor to China.
I hope I didn't convey the idea that I was dissatisfied with the guides. I was more than pleased with their services. If I praised the first three guides more than the others, this was because we all spent more time with them. If I ever do get to China again, the first tour Company I would choose or recommend would be "Chinatour360".
Yours sincerely,
Brian Lucas (Age: 66)
