Dear William and Hebe,
I apologize for taking so long to respond to you. It has been a very busy week.
Regarding the meals, they were excellent. The one we would recommend is the Peking Duck restaurant in Beijing. It was superb and a bit different than the others. The only one we did not care for too much was the one in the Central Hotel in Shanghai, but it is still fine. Overall the meals were excellent. We would just recommend ordering slightly less food.
The guides were all excellent and we would recommend each of them. Nancy and Tracy were particularly good and considerate. All of the guides gave us shopping and bargaining advice. Nancy taught us some Chinese (although we were not the best students). We appreciate the early starts in some places in order to beat the crowds. Also, Yong moved things around in our schedule to accommodate our shopping requests. We saw everything on the itinerary and got the souvenir shopping done that we wanted to.
The cars and drivers were all good. However, I would note that the driving in Tibet scared us a bit. Lots of honking and passing of other cars/trucks. You may want to warn customers that driving in Tibet is a bit wild.
Regarding website comments, I would note that the tours were all done very well - first class accommodations, including seating at various events and hotel locations. The guides were very conscientious, knowledgeable, punctual, and accommodating to our requests. Food was excellent and abundant.
The only suggestions we would have is to include a day or two of different things, such as a tai chi lesson, cooking lesson, bike ride in the country, etc. Something to breakup the visits to the historical sites and museums.
If you need anything else, please let me know.
Susan
