Dear Hebe, Frieda,
We had a very good China trip and found your tour to be of very high standard. We will highly recommend Chinatour360 to any friends or family who wish to travel to China in the future. Also, if we plan to travel to China again, we would definitely go with your tour company again as well.
As to the specific points and detailed comments, please see below:
The meals arranged ranged from very average to excellent. Specifically, while in Beijing - the food at the local Beijing restaurant on the first full day was average - nothing too special. This meal would not be a good introduction/start to the tour as it is usually the first meal of a tour that sets the standard for the rest of the tour. The Beijing Duck meal was very good as was the Sichuan restaurant for lunch. The dinner in Wangfujing at the Cantonese restaurant was probably the worst out of all the meals we had on the whole tour. Mainly due to service - or lack of -everything was served at the same time, our dessert, which was a warm one, arrived along with the main courses, so was close to cold by the time we had it, and the food itself was below average.
The meals in Xian were very good. We were very impressed with the quality of the restaurants we had lunch at. The Dumpling Banquet was OK, probably more impressive for those who have not had dumplings before, the quality of the dumplings was average. Also, there were too many dumplings and so after a while everything tasted the same. The best meal we had on the whole tour was lunch at the restaurant in Xian we went to on the second day of our Xian tour. Quality of the food served was excellent. All of the dishes we ordered were very good. Usually out of all dishes ordered, thereare a couple which are average to OK, but all dishes we had at this restaurant were excellent. This would be the meal that we would recommend to friends and family. The lunch at the airport was OK.
The meals we had in Shanghai were also good. Wang Bao He restaurant was very nice and has a great ambience.
Our guide in Beijing was Juliet. As she was our first guide on the tour, we were initially very impressed by her, but the guides we got for the other cities got better and better with each city. Juliet has a good working attitude and her english skills are good as are her knowledge in the places we visited. She was probably more quiet than our other guides, but still friendly enough.
In Xian, we had Lily. She was very very knowledgeable on the city and and its history and all of the places we visited and has great knowledge in all other aspects of Xian as well. She was very friendly and accommodating to our requests - there were a couple of specific requests that she went out of her way to accommodate us with. Her english skills are excellent. She offered a lot of information about Xian and other places to visit in Xian if we were to return on another occasion.
In Shanghai, our guide was Cassandra - the youngest of all of the guides we had. Although we only had 2 days in Shanghai, Cassandra was the best guide out of the 3 guides we had. She was very friendly and had a good sense of humour and a bubbly personality. Her english skills were excellent as well as her knowledge about the city and history of Shanghai. She also has excellent knowledge of local places to visit and things to do and gave us suggestions without us having to ask her.
The cars provided were excellent and very comfortable for our group, and actually better than expected. They were kept clean all the way. Our favourite driver was Mr. Zhou (? I think) in Beijing. He was very friendly and courteous. The other drivers were quite quiet and just focused on their driving, which is fair enough.
Overall this China tour was excellent and your organisation was flawless. The tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. The cars provided were very comfortable and drivers were very professional. Some improvements could be made with the restaurant choices in Beijing, but overall most of the meals provided were very good. The shows in each city we saw were also very good. The Beijing Opera show was a lot more enjoyable than expected and the Tang Dynasty Show had very impressive staging and costumes. The best show was the Shanghai Acrobatic show - it was just excellent. Also, one other suggestion would be to add on 1 more day for Shanghai. While Shanghai is just a big city and does not have the great history of Beijing and Xian there are still many things to see and do that would just be the perfect finish for the tour of China in the Past - Xian, Present - Beijing and Future - Shanghai.
I would highly recommend Chinatour360 for anyone taking a China tour.
Thanks again for your assistance in making it a very enjoyable China trip.
Best regards,
Vanessa
