China Tour Reviews

Dear Cynthia and Emma,

We are happy to provide feedback on our trip, which we enjoyed tremendously. And it was fun to meet you in person, Cynthia!

We greatly appreciated the opportunity to be a very small group. We were able to see and hear everything and our guides all spoke excellent English. We also had the flexibility to adjust the itinerary as we found places for more or less interest. It was a great way to see China and we will highly recommend ChinaTour360 to others who wish to visit there.

Overall evaluation:
We are very appreciative of the excellent job you and ChinaTour360 did in organizing our trip. My only concern before we departed was whether the guides really would speak clear and understandable English. They all did. They were well versed in their local history and culture and were able to answer our questions. In fact our Guilin guide, Kevin, nearly got appropriated by some travelers from a world famous travel agency in US who had trouble understanding their guide!!

Juliet in Beijing could have helped us more by giving us the plan for the day and letting us have a little input. The one request we had of her was that we go to the Silk Market. Juliet did a great job, anticipating our needs and somehow getting the car and driver up to the Great Wall to pick us up when we got to the base of the sliding car.

Lily in Xian was an excellent guide. She allowed us the flexibility to stay longer at the Terracotta Army, which we found fascinating, and skip the Farmers' Cave. We could have skipped the Great Mosque, which was in disrepair, and we were grateful not to have had the free afternoon in the Bazaar there which would not have been a place in which we wanted to shop. Lily gave us lots of time at the Shaanxi Museum and the Great Wild Goose Pagoda which was delightful.

An earlier flight to Chongqing would have enabled us to see something of that city. Jenny took us to the People's Great Hall and we discovered that there is a new museum/exhibit about the Yangtse and the Three Gorges Dam, which was closed. It would have been really interesting to see that. Jenny was a great ambassador for her city and made us wish we had more time there.

The placement of the cabin on the Yangtse Cruise was wonderful. We appreciated being at the bow end near the library. (The ship management offered us the opportunity to upgrade to a suite for $100/night and we did that.)

Tony in Wuhan took us to the Bonzai Garden (not well kept) and Stone Museum, which was interesting, and a shopping opportunity. We would have appreciated an earlier flight to Guangzhou and Guilin.

Kevin in Guilin was a superb guide. He was extremely well informed and articulate. He was able to keep us away from the throngs of sellers, for the most part, and was very attuned to what we might want to see and do. Because our flight to Shanghai was in the evening, he took us to see his university, which was interesting. I appreciated his willingness to spend more time with us, rather than just dumping us a the airport to sit until flight time.

Lila, our Shanhai guide, was also very good. She is a sweet person of excellent English. She did give us a little time on our own, providing audio guides at the Shanghai Museum, which was a great idea, because the four of us could spend time in different sections of particular interest, and allowing us an hour of exploration on Nanjing Avenue.

All of the hotels were excellent. My one suggestion was that if we had stayed at a hotel nearer the shopping areas in Shanghai, we would have done some shopping there.

Of the three airlines we used, China Air was superior in terms of courteous service. Eastern China was second. Shanghai Air was least pleasant. The flight was late and the stewardesses least pleasant. We would have preferred late afternoon rather than evening flights, but I do understand that you do not make the airline schedules.

We all had a wonderful trip and will highly recommend ChinaTour360 to friends who travel to China.
