The climate in Macau is generally recognized to be mild. It has a warm and misty spring, hot and rainy summer, sunny autumn, and mild winter. With a mean annual rainfall of 2,013 millimeters (79.3 inches), it is quite humid, especially in February, March, April and May. The golden time to visit Macau is spring, autumn and winter; October, November and December being the best months.

It has an average annual temperature of around 22 °C (68 °F). In January, the temperature averages around 14 °C  (57 °F) and won't go below 5 °C (41 °F) at most. In July, the temperature averages around 28 °C (82 °F), but might ascend to around 38.9 °C (102 °F). It has a distinct rainy season (April to October) and dry season (November to next March). Rainstorms and thunderstorms are active from May to September. In July, August and September, typhoons will frequently hit the city.
