Chongqing Attractions

People's Liberation Monument 
Standing in the most prosperous downtown, People's Liberation Monument (Jiefangbei) is one of the symbolic constructions in Chongqing City. It is both the symbol of Chongqing's civilization and the evidence of the city's history.

People's Assembly Hall 
People's Assembly Hall is regarded as one of the symbolic constructions in the city. It is not only a splendid construction built into the sytle of Ming and Qing Dynasties but also a witness of Chongqing history for the last 60 years.

Dazu Rock Carvings 
Dazu Rock Carvings represent the essence of grottoes in later imperial China. Carved in the late Tang and early Song Dynasites, the grottoes themed buddhism. They are well-preserved and famous for their aesthetic quality and variety of subject matters. 

Ciqikou 
Ciqikou is an ancient village on the riverside of Jialing River. It bears a strong flavor of the Ming (1368 - 1644) and Qing (1644 - 1911) Dynasties and takes you back to everyday life of the old days. The most impressive part of Ciqikou is variety of snack outlets represented by the Chen's Fried Dough Twist.  

China Three Gorges Museum 
Located opppsite to the People's Assembly Hall, China Three Gorges Museum in Chongqing was opened to the public in June 2005, it exhibits cultural relics, numbering up to 30,000 items which excavated in around Three Gorges region.

General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum 
The General Joseph W. Stilwell Museum is located in the Jialingxin Road of the Yuzhong District. It was built to commemorate General Joseph W. Stilwell who contributed greatly to the liberation of China during the World War II.

Northern Hot Spring Park 
Initially constructed in the year 423 as a temple, the park is said to be the earliest hot spring discovered in China and is still in perfect condition. In 1927, the Northern Hot Spring Park opened to the public. The thermal water in the park is 35 - 37 °C (95 - 98.6 °F) al the year round, which is an idea place to enjoy the hot spring.

Southern Hot Spring Park 
Southern Hot Spring Park in the southeast part of the Chongqing Municipality is bestowed with thermal water of about 40 °C (104°F) all year round. It was first discoverd in the Ming Dynasty and has been used for hunderds of years.

Loquat Hill Park 
The Loquat Hill Park is located in Yuzhong District, the center of Chongqing Municipality. It is reputed to be the lung of the district. The park is beautifully designed with forests of varied trees and exuberantly grown grass and flowers.
