Climate: Guangzhou is tropical monsoon climate, characterized by warmness, wetness, long summers and short frosting days.Guangzhou is within the control of a tropical monsoon climate. The high temperature haunts the city all the year round, with an average annual temperature of 21 °C (69.8 °F). It experiences abundant rainfall; the annual precipitation being around 1,624 - 1,900 millimeters (639 - 748 inches). The rainfall is mainly concentrated during the rainy period which lasts from April to September.
The annual temperature is only 15 °C (59 °F) or so. The mean temperature in June and August is 28.0 - 28.7 °C (82.4 - 83.7 °F) while the mean temperature in January 12.4 - 23.5 °C (54.3 - 74.3 °F). Fortunately, it is not burning hot in summer because a great deal of rain comes and repels the heat. The wind direction changes with the season and blows at quite a high wind speed in spring and winter. In summer, the wind speed lessens, but a possible gale may release its full fury.
