Our guide will meet you at the airport. Visit the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo and the Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell if time permits. Tonight enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner at the 4-star Holiday Inn Yangtze. Then you will embark on the deluxe German-made cruise ship to stay overnight in preparation for your Yangtze cruise. (D)

 

At 08:00, the China Regal sets sail down the mighty Yangtze River. You are required to attend a safety, Orientation & River Briefing at 08:30 through which you will learn the geography & river lore of China. Your sightseeing highlight today will be a visit to the Ghost City of Fengdu. You are invited to join in the Chinese folk dancing and music performance during the Captain's Welcome Party at around 20:30. (B+L+D)

 

You will first pass through the Qutang Gorge, the shortest but the grandest of the Three Gorges. View the exquisite peaks and grotesquely shaped rocks. Then pass the Wu Gorge with its famous lofty and misty peaks. You'll stop at the town of Badong and take a small junk up the Shennong Stream and enjoy the spectacular natural scenery. The pea boat allows you to experience a speedy adventure and have a close look at mossy rocks, verdant plants, plank roads, ancient coffins and precious animals. You will hear the very impressive unique songs of the local Tujia people from the boat trackers. The cruise will resume sailing into the western section of Xiling Gorge and pass the five-step ship lock. Dock overnight at Sandouping, nearby the Three Gorges Dam. (B+L+D)

 

This morning take an excursion to visit the Three Gorges Dam Project. The cruise will resume sailing through the eastern section of Xiling Gorge and the river guide will provide you with a narration. Exit the gorges at Yichang city, where you pass the ship lock of Gezhouba Dam. At 20:00 take part in the dancing and music performance in the evening party. (B+L+D)

 

After breakfast at 9:00, guests will be reminded of disembarkation. The cruise will end in Wuhan at noon. Your guide will pick you up and take you to visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. You will be transferred to the airport to board your homeward bound flight by yourselves filled with memories of your exciting journey to this most amazing land. (B+L)
