Samya Temple, namely Cunxiang Temple or Wubian Temple, is located in Samye Town in Chanang County, Shannan. The buildings in the temple combine traditional Chinese, Tibetan and Indian styles, hence the name 'Three-styles Temple' (Sanyang Temple). Initially built in the 8th century, it is famous for the historical relics in the temple, including the murals, statues and architectures. Samya Temple is also the first temple which has tonsured monks in Tibet.
