Selected in UNESCO's World Cultural Heritage List, Lijiang Old Town, also named Dayan Town, is located in the middle part of the Lijiang River, famous for its well-preserved ancient features and colorful multi-national cultures. It's said that the supreme ruler of Lijiang was from Mu family for generations, while in Chinese, if adding a frame to 'Mu', it would be 'Kun' meaning being besieged, so Lijiang Old Town is the only well-known ancient city without city walls in China.
