You will walk through Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.  Tonight you will feast on Peking Duck Sinner at a famous restaurant.  Following dinner you will witness a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre. (B+L+D)

 

Today you will walk on the most visited segment of the Great Wall, Badaling. To avoid the tourist eateries at the Wall, you will be taken to a local popular Sichuan restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. (B+L)

 

This morning you will visit the ornate Summer Palace on the shores of the immense Kunming Lake and the lovely pandas in Beijing Zoo. After lunch, you'll take the afternoon flight to Xian and transfer to the local hotel. (B+L)

 

Tour the astounding Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. Then we'll return to the city for an a la carte lunch at a renowned Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight you'll enjoy Xian's famous dining specialty, the Dumpling Banquet. After dinner you'll be entertained by the marvelous Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. (B+L+D) 

 

Visit the magnificent Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. After enjoying a delicious a la carte lunch at a local cuisine restaurant, visit the City Wall and the Great Mosque, the center of Xian's sizeable Muslim community. (B+L)

 

Visit the Hanyangling Museum, the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi in the morning. Take flight to Lhasa and transfer to the local hotel. Acclimatize yourself to the high altitude in the afternoon. Tonight, the a la carte dinner will be served at a local best Sichuan cuisine restaurant. (B+D)

 

This morning you will view the magnificent Potala Palace. After a western-style lunch, continue your sightseeing tour to the Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Park. Later, you'll meet a Tibetan family and get an opportunity to see their customs and how they live. Tonight you will dine at your hotel. (B+L+D)

 

Start the day with visits to the Jokhang Temple, the thriving Barkhor Street bazaar. After a western-style lunch, you'll see the Tibet Museum, the Tibetan Tradition Medicine Hospital and the Lhasa Carpet Factory. This evening dinner will be served at the hotel. (B+L+D)

 

Board the overnight soft sleeper train to Lanzhou after breakfast. Lunch and dinner are on your own. (B)

 

Your guide will meet you at the railway station and transfer you to the hotel in the early afternoon upon arrival. Today's visit includes the Waterwheel Garden and the Gansu Provincial Museum, time permitting. Full board are on your own.

 

You will visit the Binglingsi Grottoes in the morning. Take a flight to Chongqing. Tonight enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner at the 4-star Holiday Inn Yangtze. Then you will embark on the deluxe German-made cruise ship to stay overnight in preparation for your Yangtze cruise. (B+L+D)

 

At 08:00, the ship sets sail down the mighty Yangtze River. Your sightseeing highlight today will be a visit to the Ghost City of Fengdu. (B+L+D)

 

Today, you'll stop at the town of Badong and take a small junk up the Shennong Stream and enjoy the spectacular natural scenery. The cruise will resume sailing into the western section of Xiling Gorge and passing through the five-step ship lock. (B+L+D)

 

Today's visit is a short excursion to the monumental Three Gorges Dam Project at Sandouping. (B+L+D)

 

The cruise ends in Wuhan at noon. You will be met by the guide and taken to have lunch at a local restaurant. You will have an opportunity to visit the Hubei Provincial Museum. Then take flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel. (B+L)  

 

Today tour the Shanghai Museum, the Yuyuan Garden and the Bund. Later, you will visit a local family to experience the local people's life. Tonight's dinner will feature Shanghai cuisine at the renowned 260-year old Wang Bao He restaurant. After dinner, you'll go to the Shanghai Centre Theatre and see the fabulous Portman Acrobatic Show. You will be transferred to the airport to board your homeward bound flight filled with memories of your exciting journey to this most amazing land. (B)
