Day 01: Arrival in Beijing

Day 02: Beijing
You will walk through Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.  Tonight you will feast on Peking Duck Dinner at a famous restaurant.  Following dinner you will witness a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre. (B+L+D)

Day 03: Beijing
Today you will walk on the most visited segment of the Great Wall, Badaling. To avoid the tourist eateries at the Wall, you will be taken to a local popular Sichuan restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. (B+L)

Day 04: Beijing - Xian
This morning you will visit the ornate Summer Palace on the shores of the immense Kunming Lake. After lunch, take the afternoon flight to Xian and transfer to the local hotel. Visit the City Wall. (B+L)

Day 05: Xian

Tour the astounding Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. Then we'll return to the city for an a la carte lunch at a renowned Cantonese cuisine restaurant. In the afternoon, explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque. Tonight you'll enjoy Xian's famous dining speciality, the Dumpling Banquet. After dinner you'll be entertained by the marvelous Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. (B+L+D)

Day 06: Xian
Visit the magnificent Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. A delicious a la carte lunch will be served at a local cuisine restaurant. The afternoon is at leisure. (B+L)

Day 07: Xian - Lhasa
Visit the Hanyangling Museum, the Mausoleum of Western Han Emperor Liu Qi in the morning. Then take flight to Lhasa and transfer to the hotel in Tsetang. Your dinner is served at the hotel. (B+D)

Day 08: Tsetang - Lhasa
This morning, you will take a ferry on the Yarlong Tsangpo River and visit the Samye Monastery. Drive back to Lhasa and check in the local hotel. Tonight, the a la carte dinner will be served at a local best Sichuan cuisine restaurant. (B+L+D)

Day 09: Lhasa
This morning you will view the magnificent Potala Palace. After a western-style lunch, continue your sightseeing tour to visit the Sera Monastery and Norbulingka Park. Tonight you will dine at your hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 10: Lhasa
Start the day with visits to the Jokhang Temple, the thriving Barkhor Street bazaar. After a western-style lunch, you'll see the Tibet Museum, the Tibetan Tradition Medicine Hospital and the Lhasa Carpet Factory, Tibet's largest. This evening dinner will be at the hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 11: Lhasa - Shangri-la
You'll meet a Tibetan family and get an opportunity to see their customs and how they live on the way to the airport. Take a ninety-minute flight to Zhongdian, which is also known as "Shangri-La" and transfer to the hotel. (B+L)

Day 12: Shangri-la
Today you will visit the Bitahai Lake nature preserve and the Shudu Lake. You'll go inside the Songzanlin Temple, the biggest Tibetan Buddhist Temple in Yunnan Province on the way back. (B+L)

Day 13: Shangri-la - Lijiang
Drive though the scenic countryside to Lijiang and transfer to the hotel. On the way, you will stop at the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the First Bend of the Yangtze River and the Stone Drum Town. (B+L)

Day 14: Lijiang
Today visit the Baisha Village with its famous murals, a local Naxi family and also see Joseph Rock's former residence in Yuhu Village. In the afternoon, spend some time exploring the old town on your own. This evening enjoy the Naxi Ancient Music and Dance Performance at Dongba Palace. (B+L+D)

Day 15: Lijiang
Today is free for you to explore the city by yourselves. (B)

Day 16: Lijiang - Kunming

Day 17: Kunming - Chongqing
You will take a morning flight to Chongqing. Visit the Panda House in Chongqing Zoo if time permits. Tonight enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner at the 4-star Holiday Inn Yangtze. Then you will embark on the deluxe German-made cruise ship to stay overnight in preparation for your Yangtze cruise. (B+L+D)

Day 18: Chongqing - Fengdu
At 08:00, the ship sets sail down the mighty Yangtze River. Your sightseeing highlight today will be a visit to the Ghost City of Fengdu. (B+L+D)

Day 19: Badong - Xiling Gorge - Sandouping
Today, you'll stop at the town of Badong and take a small junk up the Shennong Stream and enjoy the spectacular natural scenery. The cruise will resume sailing into the western section of Xiling Gorge and passing through the five-step ship lock. (B+L+D)

Day 20: Sandouping

Day 22: Shanghai
Today, tour the Shanghai Museum, the Yuyuan Garden and the Bund. Later, you will visit a local family to experience the local people's life. Tonight's dinner will feature Shanghai cuisine at the renowned 260-year old Wang Bao He restaurant. After dinner, you'll go to the Shanghai Centre Theatre and see the fabulous Portman Acrobatic Show. Day 23: Departure from Shanghai
