Located in Jingsheng Town, 12 km (7.5 miles) east of Lingshi County in Shanxi Province, Wang's Compound is a typical residential courtyard of the Qing Dynasty. Taking up an area of over 250,000 square meters (29,897 square yards), it was built with five lanes, five castles, and five temples, of which the most unique should be the five castles whose yard layouts were compared to the shapes of five supernatural animals - dragon, phoenix, turtle, unicorn and tiger.
