Day 01: Arrival in Beijing

Day 02: Beijing
You will walk through Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.  Tonight you will feast on Peking Duck Dinner at a famous restaurant.  Following dinner you will witness a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre. (B+L+D)

Day 03: Beijing
Today you will walk on the most visited segment of the Great Wall, Badaling. To avoid the tourist eateries at the Wall, you will be taken to a local popular Sichuan restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit the Sacred Way and the Ming Tomb. (B+L)

Day 04: Beijing - Xian
This morning you will visit the ornate Summer Palace on the shores of the immense Kunming Lake. Take an afternoon flight to Xian and transfer to the hotel. Visit the ancient City Wall. (B+L)

 Ta'er Monastery, Xining



Day 05: Xian
Tour the astounding Museum of Qin Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses. Then we'll return to the city for an excellent Cantonese lunch. In the afternoon, explore the Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Great Mosque. Tonight you'll enjoy Xian's famous dining specialty, the Dumpling Banquet. After dinner you'll be entertained by the marvelous Tang Dynasty Music and Dance Show. (B+L+D)

Day 06: Xian - Xining
Visit the magnificent Shaanxi Provincial History Museum. After enjoying a delicious a la carte lunch at a local cuisine restaurant, take flight to Xining and transfer to the hotel. (B+L)

Day 07: Xining - Lanzhou
Visit the Ta'er Monastery. Take a soft seat train to Lanzhou and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Gansu Provincial Museum. (B+L)

Day 08: Lanzhou
Today you will take a short excursion to the Binglingsi Grottoes. Drive back to Lanzhou in the late afternoon. (B+L)

Day 09: Lanzhou - Xiahe
Take a drive to Xiahe and check in the local hotel. Visit the Sangke Grassland and have a visit to a Tibetan family. (B+L)

Day 10: Xiahe - Lanzhou
This morning you will take a visit to the Labrang Monastery and have a watch of the morning devotion there. Drive back to Lanzhou and stay at the hotel. (B+L)

Day 11: Lanzhou - Wuwei
Drive to Wuwei and transfer to the hotel. You will visit the Han Tombs, the excavation site of the Logo of National Tourism of China - the Bronze Gallopping Horse and the Confucius Temple. (B+L)

Day 12: Wuwei - Zhangye
Drive to Zhangye and transfer to the hotel. Today's visit includes the Giant Buddha Temple, the Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty, the Bell Tower and the Drum Tower. (B+L)

Flaming Hill, Turpan



Day 13: Zhangye - Jiayuguan
Drive to Jiayuguan and transfer to the hotel. Visit the Jiayuguan Pass, the First Fire Tower of Great Wall and the Wei-jin Art Gallery. (B+L)

Day 14: Jiayuguan - Dunhuang
Drive to Dunhuang and transfer to the hotel. You will get an opportunity to take a brief, but fun camel ride along the Echooing-Sand Dune to reach Crescent Lake. (B+L)

Day 15: Dunhuang - Turpan
Visit the Mogao Grottoes and the Dunhuang Museum. After dinner, take an overnight soft sleeper train to Turpan. (B+L+D)

Day 16: Turpan
Your local guide will meet you at the railway station and transfer you to the hotel. Breakfast is served in your hotel. Today's itinerary includes the Jiaohe Ruins, the largest, oldest and best-preserved earthen city in the world, the Karez Irrigation Channels and the Sugong Pagoda. (B+L)

Day 17: Turpan - Urumqi
Visit the Gao Chang Ruins, and the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves located deep in the Flaming Mountains. Drive to Urumqi and check in the local hotel. (B+L)

Day 18: Urumqi - Shanghai
Take flight to Shanghai and transfer to the hotel. Tour the Yuyuan Garden, and the Bund. Later, you will visit a local family to experience the local people's life. Tonight's dinner will feature Shanghai cuisine at the renowned 260-year old Wang Bao He restaurant. After dinner, you'll go to the Shanghai Centre Theatre and see the fabulous Portman Acrobatic Show. Day 19: Departure from Shanghai
You will be transferred to the airport to board your homeward bound flight filled with memories of your exciting journey to this most amazing land. (B)
