Day 01: Arrival in Beijing

Our guide will meet you at the airport and transfer to the hotel. The rest of your day is free.

Day 02: Beijing

Today you will walk on the most visited segment of the Great Wall, Badaling. To avoid the tourist eateries at the Wall, you will be taken to a local popular Sichuan restaurant for lunch. After lunch, you will visit the Ming Tomb and the Sacred Way. Tonight you will enjoy an a la carte dinner at a renowned Cantonese cuisine restaurant in the Wangfujing Street. (B+L+D)

Day 03: Beijing - Hohhot

This morning you will visit the ornate Summer Palace on the shores of the immense Kunming Lake and the lovely pandas in Beijing Zoo. After lunch, take the afternoon flight to Hohhot and transfer to the hotel. (B+L)

Day 04: Hohhot

In the morning you will travel to the Gegentala Grasslands and experience how Mongolian herdsmen live. You will be treated to a delicious native lunch and be entertained by local singers and dancers. Tonight you will sleep in an authentic Mongolian yurt. (B+L)

Day 05: Hohhot - Datong

Start the day driving back to Hohhot and visiting the Tomb of Zhaojun. Later you will go the Indian-style Wu Ta Temple and the 6th century Da Zhao Temple, once home to a thousand lamas.  Take a soft seat train to Datong and transfer to the hotel. (B+L)

Day 06: Datong - Beijing

Our full day in Datong begins by going to the 1500-year old Yungang caves. Later you will see the ancient Buddhist monastery - the Shanhua Temple. Finally, you will stop at the Nine Dragon Wall, one of China’s most famous spirit screens. Take overnight soft sleeper train to Beijing. (B+L)

Day 07: Beijing

You will be met at the railway station in the early morning upon arrival. Transfer to the hotel, where the breakfast is served. Today you will walk through Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City and the Temple of Heaven.  Tonight you will feast on Peking Duck Dinner at a famous restaurant.  Following dinner you will witness a lively Peking Opera performance at the Liyuan Theatre. (B+L+D)

Day 08: Departure from Beijing

You will be transferred to the airport to board your homeward bound flight filled with memories of your exciting journey to this most amazing land. (B)
