OverviewAttractions

Entering the famous scenic spot of Tianmu Lake, you will be greeted by Hulishan Scenic Area. It is a peninsula surrounded by water in three sides and connected to the land in one side, where you could understand 1,300 years of historical cultures of Liyang City, appreciate acrobatic performances, and research an important archaeological discovery in modern China-Primitive ape fossil. The most famous in Hulishan Scenic Area should be Zhuangyuan Pavilion, which is 3-storied, 72.2 feet high and has a floor area of over 420 square yards. Different from ordinary pavilions, it has 24 corners, with 8 corners on each floor. Standing on the pavilion, you could have a panoramic view of the landscapes of Tianmu Lake.

Tianmu Lake covers an area of over 116 square miles, and the total water reserve is up to 116 square miles. Seen in the sky, it is like the eyes of a beauty, so it is called Tianmu Lake. The lake comprises eight branches and 48 rivulets. As it is well developed and protected, the water in the lake is of national 2nd-level standards. With picturesque sceneries, fragrant tea and fat fishes, the lake is like a beautiful picture, or a sweet music.

Tianmu Lake is world famous for three perfections: cool water, fragrant tea, and delicious fish head. Fish Head Pot is made of silver carp produced in the lake. As the fish lived in shallow water, the lake is non-polluted, and the lake floor is paved with sands and stones, the silver carp tastes fresh and delicious. In 1982, it was highly praised by diplomats and their wives from 75 countries.

On the Lake, there is monkey islet, where over 100 lovely macaques are raised. The islet covers an area of over 59.3 acres. Also, there is a large pine forest named 'silk ball' on the islet. The monkey islet and the silk ball islet are connected with Xiaoyao Bridge. Across the bridge, you could appreciate the largest purple clay pot in the world.

Opposite to the lake, there is a Bao'en Temple, which was built over 1,400 years ago. In 1992, the original temple was moved to Dongling Mountain on Tianmu Lake, and plus the tea park, there come a Religious Culture Area.
