A temple of Buddhist caves in China, Bingling Temple is located in the Xiaojishi Mountain, 35 kilometers (22 miles) southwest of Yongjing County in Gansu Province. 'Bingling' is the transliteration of 'thousand Buddha' in Tibetan, so Bingling Temple is also named 'Thousand Buddha Temple'. the Bingling Temple Caves are one of the four best known Buddhist caves (the other three are Mogao Caves, Yulin Caves, and Maijishan Caves) on the ancient Silk Road, ranking only second to the Mogao Grottoes in cultural and artistic value.
