The Water Cube (National Aquatics Centre) is located in the Olympic Sports Center. It was constructed between December 24, 2003 and January 28, 2008, and held the swimming, diving and water ballet matches during the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Water Cube covers an area of 62,950 square meters (15.6 acres) and resembles a cube of water cells, hence the name 'Water Cube'. Now, water cube has become a national sports center where there are swimming pools, fitness centers and recreational centers.
