Based on Anhui Opera and Chinese Opera, Beijing Opera is the Chinese artistic treasure with nearly 200 years of history, combining music, vocal performance, mime, dance and acrobatics. Arising in the middle and late 18th century, and flourished in the 1930s and 1940s, it has nearly 1,000 traditional theatrical pieces, most of which are from historical stories, created by Beijing Opera performers and folk writers.
